Neighborhood overviewThe villa is located in the small traditional village of Xirokampi. In the village there is a traditional, family tavern just 200m form the property where you can taste homemade traditional dishes. The closest mini market and the beach of Maleme are 4 km far from the property. The touristic and very active village of Platanias is about 8km far and there you can find many restaurants, bars, disco, shops, big market. The fantastic and unmissable city of Chania is 19 km away, Chania airport 39 km and Heraklion airport 158 km. Car rental is necessary. It is very easy to go to the most beautiful and famous beaches of Crete [ Elafonissi, Falasarna, Balosetc] and that is because the villa is very near the highway, without even passing through the very crowded village of Platanias or the city of Chania, avoiding the traffic jam. For those who love walking or cycling (mountain bike), there are many trails in the surrounding areas of the villa that penetrate into the wonderful nature of the olive and passing through narrow paths of small typical Cretan villages.
From the guest house you may also explore the western part of Crete.
Wander around the wonderful town of Chania with its picturesque little port which is always full of life.
Walk at the upland of Omalos. For those of you who love adventure, we suggest you pass through the canyon of Samaria. There is also another nice excursion that we suggest you to take to Elafonissos and Palaiochora as well as to the wonderful beaches of Sougia and Falasarna.
Do not forget to taste the villageʼs new traditional tavern at 50 meters distance from the guest house.
Visit the less crowded sandy beach of PirgosPsilonerou, 3 km from the village.
